The NGS has received first CAD images showing progress on the design of its forthcoming Hunslet industrial shunter in N.
There is still some grille and handrail detail to be added, but the images give a good idea of progress so far.
The model will feature a coreless motor in the larger bonnet, with a brass flywheel at the other end of the drive train for smooth running. We are also hoping to design in a “Stay Alive” capacitor and a flashing roof light where appropriate. These will be controlled by a PCB incorporating a DCC chip as standard – this will enable these features to work even on DC layouts, while also avoiding the need for a space-greedy DCC socket for DCC enthusiasts.
